ABT Railway Project - Queenstown, Tas.,

For some up to date photos of our new railway, try local identity Bill Mc
Cann's Web site listed below. He is hoping to keep it up to date and add
more pictures as things develop.

His site is www.geocities.com/bilmac.geo

Bit of info about the area as well.

Permanent way construction in Queenstown from the station to the workshops
site has begun. With the more difficult sections, Hazell Bros have put a
road down from the Strahan Road to Rinadeena (the summit) and are working
their way down the hill towards Dubbil Barrel, currently rebuilding Bridge
No.7 - a deep gully in the rain forest. There is a good photo in today's
Hobart Mercury of it. They are also working from Teepookana up towards the
Quarter Mile Bridge site.

The two steam locos #1 and #3 are in Hobart being rebuilt by Saunders
Engineering, who are also building new (replica??) carriages as well.

So it's all happening. Visit Bill's Web site - you will find the pictures
quite good,

Regards all,
