Politicians in that part of the country regularly back a line from
Murwillumbah to the border. That is, politicians who are not members of the
NSW Government who would be the only starter in the building of such a line.

Besides, Larry is on a razor thin margin going into  the next election with
a GST, a highly welfare dependent electorate and some statements that
wouldn't exactly win too many friends in the area. He needs to support
anything, especially things he can't influence.
