Just a note to say I agree, lets see the results of the enquiry. Every few
days a new fact comes up.

As for the other problems in the system, CityRail is operating a system
built for a rural outback settlement. The routes follow similar alignments
as they did a century ago.

Sydney has grown since then to 4 million people, and almost a million a day
are using this outdated system.

Considering the limited resources they have to call on, they are doing a
remarkable job.

They are short of workers (thanks to near full employment), short of funds
(thanks to government "streamlining"), and short of trains, tracks and
maintenance.

When the result of that enquiry comes out, hopefully it will be damning.
Hopefully the public will influence the government enough to actually get
Bob Carr to do more than just say "fix it"
