Toll train changes/ 5 x GMs on grain

Aus loco discussion mailing list

Dear All

Gratuitous locomotive mention - 5 x GMs on loaded Coonalpyn grain train at
Mile End 1945hrs last night. According to Bob G it left Tailem bend in the
classic time slot of 1600hrs (left Coonalpyn around 1500 hrs) and should be
running again today.

A couple of people have misintepreted what I said about the Toll train a gew
days ago. To clarify - NRC are NOT, I repeat NOT, taking over the Toll
train. What I said was -

>Although it was first mooted about six months ago, I have been informed
that the TNT cartainer traffic on the >Melbourne to Perth Toll Rail services
is now due to switch to National Rail from 1 November 1999.

>This will result is a slightly less colourful Toll train to phot - so get
the shots now!"

The above clearly states that the TNT cartainer (and TRAY wagons for that
matter) traffic will be moved on NRC services Melbourne to Perth after 1/11/99.

That is ONLY the TNT cartainer traffic to all intent and purposes the rest
of the Toll train remains unchanged. As their red and white livery adds a
splash of colur to the consist I was suggesting that people go out an get
the shots now. If such aesthetics don't turn you on then don't worry about it.

If f said cartainers still apppear on the Toll train after 1/11 undertsand
that the rail industry at the moments in a constant state of flux and -

"Anything can happen in the next half hour!"
