FV movements tomorrow.

Aus loco discussion mailing list

A few movements to notes....

9691 goods Dynon to Bandiana has G 535-H 1-X 45. The G will return with
another H class swapping over the Wodonga standard gauge yard pilot. The
H will form the new yard pilot. The X class works light loco from
Bandiana to Port Kembla and then is shown on the FV loco rosters as
spare avaliable in Port Kembla for the next few days.

Quite interesting, given that whilst working the Fuelpoint at Dynon
today, the senior t/c rings up looking for a spare engine to add to 9461
Maryvale goods. It had an X-P combo, however for the return journey
there was 2200 tonnes to bring back, some 800 tonnes above the load for
a X-P. The only engine avaliable to work the train was T 408, so that
was added, however it was still not enough horsepower to work the train
back (X-P-T load is about 2000 tonnes!!!) This loco shortage is
happening almost daily now! With any luck, to overcome the problem the 4
stord S class locomotives will be brought out of storage to help with
the extra workload.

A log train from Port Kembla to Hume ran today (28.10.1999) and the next
is scheduled for Monday the 1st of Novemeber 1999 running to the usual
times.

G 529 ex FV green re-paint is still rostered to work the TNT train out
of Adelaide on Friday night to Dynon, then return as far as Dimboola on
Saturday nights 9753 train. It is anticipated that it will work a
Dimboola to Yaapeet special passenger train (with GSR sitting cars) for
a local town festival (Rainbow) on Sunday the 31st of November 1999.

Friday nights TNT train 9753 ex Melbourne to Adelaide was rostered as G
519-G 540-G 522-G 537. All locos through to Adelaide.
