Sale to Bairnsdale log trains start running probably next week, but only hauled by the RTL loco for the first few weeks. The bridge can only hold an RTL at present, but repair works will continue to enable T's and P's to cross. The RTL has been relocated to Morwell for this week and is acting as a pilot with the large amount of shunting required in all yards there.

Aus loco discussion mailing listToday (tue 26/10) the paper train to Maryvale had X44-G543. This morning the Pioneer train from Westall had a normal G class, I was a bit slow to get out of bed to see the number. Yesterday the Pioneer train to westall passed Murrumbeena at 03.30 with G543 and a P or T class. I did not see it return during its usual time (around 09.00), although by the afternoon G543 was sighted at Morwell for some reason. I suspect the P or T returned with the empty train to allow G543 to travel to Morwell. Any comments Darren. Also, yesterday there was a mini Pioneer to Westall with an X class and noisy Darren Wood at the controls. By the way Darren what was the X number. Michael
To answer your questions Michael,
The load for the quarry train and the cement train is sometimes too much for the single turbo charged piece of rubbish (G) therefore a P or T is added for the run up Toorak Bank. Quarry train is 1596 tonnes with 10 cement pots adding 680 tonnes to the load a bit over the max. for a single G. G 543 went out late for the paper train today adn was attached enroute.
I thought you might enjoy hearing that X clas roar through Murumbeena in notch 8 Michael, with a few long-short-longs on the whistle!! What happened afterwards was amazing.....upto Oakleigh and into 3rd.... put away for the following late running Traralgon pass and the spark following that!! Did you have a scanner on and listen into the conversation I had with Oakleigh Box and the Train controller?? I think the train controller was using some pretty whacky drugs to make that decision given the pass was still 15 mins behind us and its the same speed for a pass and goods from Oakleigh to Westall.....a distance of about 6 km's. Maybe he was a former ARTC controller....they are just as good at making equally as stupid decisions!!!! Loco was X 32 with 9 wagons 134 metres for 634 tonnes. Train number was 9522. ______________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, write to Ausloco-unsubscribe@listbot.com Start Your Own FREE Email List at http://www.listbot.com/
