According to FVs CEO the Queanbeyan log traffic is due to commence this
Thursday - it was certainly encouraging to see numerous loaded log wagons
sitting at Geelong on Saturday.
WCR's B80 which has been in storage for some time has is being assessed for
a return to traffic on standard gauge. It's bogies have been swapped for a
standard gauge set from GNRS. The anticipated use is on a another operators
tourist train in South Australia early next year.
Unfortunately R711 had problems with dirty oil on the Westcoaster on
Saturday and was failed at Warrnambool after a late arrival - the clag was
amazing though! T369 worked the 17.05 back to Melbourne solo and was about
30 late into Spencer Street.
Apologies for the lack of SA info, but my usual source of info appears to
have dried up temporarily. The ELs have about a week to go on hire to ASR -
last week they were working a 0500 Dry Creek to Crystal Brook and Port Pirie
grain with an appox 1800 return.
An unidentied unpainted EL was sitting outside GNRS Islington on Friday morning.
Cheers
Mark
