930 and GM2 are owned outright Port Dock and have been since prior to the
sale of AN in November 1997.

(FYI, AN now only exists in a very, very limited legal sense - like one
part-time employee finishing up outstanding issues - ownership of assets
would not be one of these issues.)

Both locomotives would require substantial work to get them back into
traffic, 930 mechanical and bogies, GM2 to its bogies.

It would be interesting to know where the rumour started - no one at ASR
knows anything about it - it would be cheaper for ASR to hire GNR or
Silverton units.

There is in fact more chance of ASR hiring 515 (again both owned outright by
Port Dock) than 930 or GM2.

Cheers

Mark
