Rail line cleared after freight train collision

Heavy haulage equipment is being used to
clear the main Melbourne to Adelaide rail line
after two freight trains collided at Ararat in
                    Western Victoria last night.

Two men were injured when a train carrying
wheat slammed into a stationary train loaded
with blue metal at the Ararat station.

Grain vs Ballast?

Fortunately the early reports of a double fatality were wrong.

If it's two G classes, what's this going to do for FV's already
parlous horsepower shortage? If one's a write-off as suggested
elsewhere, the prime mover may yet get shoehorned into an X.
