BHP Whyalla/ SA Bits

ASR and BHP were due to sign a contract for the Whyalla takeover about an
hour ago.

ASR get a lease over track and wagons and will purchase eight locomotives
from BHP.

ASR is due to take over offically on 1/12/99.

I am not aware of their intentions are as far as the future motive power
fleet for Whyalla other than there is a commitment as part of the contract
to upgrade it -  but I don't think there will be any Bulldogs!

Grain Update: 0400hrs ex Karoonda to Port Adelaide should be down through
the Hills in good light tomorrow a.m. Also a late runnning train ex
Balaklava may not get back to to Adelaide until daylight.
