Aus loco discussion mailing list
Quite bit of action around today especially for the bulldog fan.
GM42-CLP12 arrived with the Patrick train this morning.
A77-X39 ran the paper train to Morwell this afternoon.
A79-P21 ran light engine down to Morwell this morning, returning with a Briquette train. It went down the Marybynong river line around 13.30 this afternoon. This has to be one of the first train to go down on a weekend for some time.
The FreightCorp train out of the Great Northern yard loco fail just before Somerton this morning. GN 27 ran light engine to push the train to Somerton loop before running around and leading the train north. It departed Somerton just before 13.00. 27 will be going all the way to Junee, but an 82 has been sent to lead the train from Albury.
One further GM also headed north this morning, although not on rails, GM41's cab departed the GN yard loaded onto a semi heading to Eldon. It's going to be used as a D J's booth in a new years party. After this it will head to Bendigo.
Preserved GM36 is working the Mildura tour this weekend.
Added to this, West Coast Railway's Bs & Ss, other FV As and V/Line Passenger As plotting around, Victoria must surly claim the prize for the most varied collection of Bulldogs.
