Re: ELs to NSW

No reason why XPT trailers can't be used as loco hauled cars. The PHA power vans were modified for this some years ago. Countrylink has recently ordered 4 extra XPT trailers and I'm told that when these are delivered they will be used loco hauled on the Griffith and Broken Hill trains hauled by 422s.
Cheers

Aus loco discussion mailing list With Countrylink XPT's suffering increasingly from age, and maintenance demands caused by intensive scheduling and short turnaround times , does anyone want to comment on a totally wild rumour that the EL's coming to NSW are to be commissioned as replacement or spare  XPT power units ?   :-)) (However if they're going to Junee, that implies Austrac....) No responsibility accepted for this one! Paul ______________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, write to Ausloco-unsubscribe@listbot.com Start Your Own FREE Email List at http://www.listbot.com/
