It seems that Freight Victoria is keen to sign up redundant NRC crews from Junee to assist them operate the new Melbourne - Sydney service.

According to an article in last Friday's Newcastle Herald, 50 NRC jobs are
to go in Sydney,Brisbane, Junee and Grafton. National Rail said that it
would also cancel(?) all Sydney to Melbourne freight services. The proposed
cuts are to be made  due some dispute with unions, according to the report.
