When X38 was on hire to Austrac it was know to have had very bad engine oil leaks. On one trip if was said to have "used" half it's engine oil between Melbourne and Sydney. Apparently some but not all of the leaks were repaired by FV staff on it's last visit to Melbourne.

X45 has appeared at Port Kembla this morning on the FV log train, second loco is G533. I noticed on Monday afternoon that a few of the hood doors on X38 were open, I had thought it was just being serviced, but maybe it was something more serious.
