Head on collision in Tassie

Aus loco discussion mailing list
I've just seen a report that there was a head on collision between the Boyer paper train and a coal train at Western Junction near Launceston on Tuesday. It happened at slow speed and both crews apparently jumped clear. The paper reports that two locos, two coal wagons and two container wagons were damaged.

Details plus a photo from the Examiner at this link (which may be archived after a few days)

Perhaps Michael can provide further details of the locos involved.  (Looks like three of the maroon (DQ?) locos on the paper train, and a brace of yellow Z types on the coal).

Cheers,

Paul
