Re: Good viewing spot around Hawkesbury River - Hunter\South Coast railcars

Aus loco discussion mailing list

i went in from cowan station when going down the bank one day and sat near
tunnel number 2 from the sydney endthat gave me a good view of both tunnels
with the lights acting as markers for when the next train was coming i even
piled a small mound of large rocks so i knew where i can go back to it is
about 100 or so south of the tunnel entrence so you camn walk along the old
highway till you get to a gate on top of the hill and then take a walk down
the 4wd drive track or the other way is to walk into where the crossing is
1/2 way up the bank and take photos from just out side the tunnel there
the way to get in is about 2 or 3 kms south of hawkessbury river station
where an old servo used to be then walk down that 4wd drive track and then
it will bring to a gate at the bottom i think you can climb around it or you
will need to go over the top.
the other one is down on the bridge itself all you will need to do is to let
the sm know that you are going down there.
and for rail cars the only spot left is to ride 620 railcars
