The first train on the re-opened Blayney - Cowra section of the
cross-country line did indeed run today.
Train 8M22 Ballast arrived Cowra at 5.10 p.m. behind 48s 156/96/97 with
a trailing load of two plough vans sandwiching 17 empty ballast wagons. The
train travelled from Dubbo to Blayney behind 48s 98/97/96/156 but 4898 was
declared a failure at Blayney and removed, along with five loaded ballast
wagons.
After a crew change 8M22 Ballast departed Cowra, bound for Harden, at
about 6.00 p.m.
