Chaps,
      This morning's Channel 9 'Today' show ran a follow up item on the 
Glenbrook crash, saying that the voice logs of comms between signal box 
and drivers indicated that both drivers were given permission to pass a 
u/s signal locked at red, albeit at 25 km/h. Whether this is fact or 
speculation is another matter all together (knowing Channel 9). Hope this 
is of interest.
