Here's a challenge for the steam fans:
 What was the heaviest freight locomotives in use to cross the 'mountain 
barriers' around Sydney/Melbourne/Adelaide, and what were the best 
tonnages they could haul, both in the Down (up the mountain) and Up (down 
the mountain) directions ?.
