[Ausloco] English Electric R1902 on the move

Hotham Valley bound English Electric R1902 made the trip down the hill
from Cohuna Koala Park in Gosnells yesterday where it has been sitting
on a low loader since Friday. Heavy rain delayed the movement from the
Park to Clyde Engineering at Forrestfield.

A 'C' class will tow the 'R' to Pinjarra once the necessary inspections
and greasing etc have taken place and a permit has been issued. HVR are
hoping to run it on the Gingin or Bridgetown trip this month if the
minor repairs required can be completed in time.

The 'R' will become HVR's most powerful diesel at 1340kw compared to a
'C' class at 1040kw.

R1902 is the only preserved R Class although RA1918 (converted from a
KA) is at the ARHS Museum, Bassendean dumped out the back in a rather
derelict state.

Cheers
John
