Chris,

This is the first Chinese loco built out of a group of five for hauling the 'mystery' replacement CountryLink services to Broken Hill and Griffith!

I guess the plans were reversed when Clyde (EDI?) transferred them to the Northern Hemisphere!

Yesterday's Sunday Telegraph had an article about the Maitland Steamfest and the accompanying photo showed a loco which looked a bit like 3801 but was numbered 108E.
