Aus loco discussion mailing list
Hello
I did the same trip to the Unanderra exhibition on the Saturday morning.
Was unlucky enough to get an Outer Suburban Tangara on the down- for mine,
the seats on these are not suited to long trips. Apart from seeing the world
at the ungodly hour of 8am- in my mind, an hour best devoted to sleep or,
ahem, Recovery, the most noteworthy thing was the thick fog in the Royal
National Park. Really beautiful. On the way back, got a V set at 11am- much
more comfortable, and saw an 82 (8242 ?) backing a rake of coal hoppers up
the flyover at Metropolitan Colliery. Is it unusual to see this spur
shunted on a Saturday ? Also, does the loco run around the rake and head
toward the Wollongong area or does it go elsewhere ?
Cheers
Ben
