Aus loco discussion mailing list
>From the Pilbara Railways Historical Society Inc. News Letter, January 1997
?
"When the locomotive was running Society members were able to take on small
jobs, and did running repairs are required, one of the last jobs we did was
to replace a small tube, owing to a leak in the fore box, this repair
enabled us to take her out on what was to be her last run, which was on the
14th of October 1994, to the opening of a new HI mine at a place called
Marinade, we wanted here out there that day as a lot of VIP's were
attending the opening, so we tried to get here some exposure, but it was
obviously to no avail!"
Hoping this helps,
Bill

Does anyone know when Hamersley Iron's British steam loco, 4079 Pendennis
Castle, last operated in WA?
The loco was delivered to WA from the UK via Sydney (and Newcastle) in mid
1977.
Regards
Derek
