Re: [Ausloco] Fw: Y112 & T413
I,m somewhat disturbed to read that T413 and Y112 have been " at peace" in
Echuca during the week. There are adequate steam maintenance facilities in the
yard, so why can't Y 112 be put to work hauling grain. Steamed rice is meant to
be good for you ! On a slightly more serious note, it's my understanding that
there are some interests in the city of Echuca who would like to see the
historic and soon-to-be renovated engine shed put to a "community use" not
associated in any way with the railway land it occupies. Whilst not wishing to
decry this aim, it is essential that this building be put to the use it was
designed for and not be subjected to the expensive internal alterations that
would be necessary if its use was changed. The A2 presently "at peace" on the
Echuca wharf would be a fitting and appropriate occupant for this building,
being first and foremost, an ENGINE shed. Peevee.
