Re: [Ausloco] repaired locos
G'day all,
I can be of minor assistance with X38 only Peter, although I do know that
repairs to G523 + X39 were to commence immediately they returned to Melb...
X39 only had minor damage but G523 was not a pretty sight!
In early May, X38 was sighted in Dynon as a frame with cab and short nose
only in place. As for the origin of its "proposed" 3000 HP engine, one would
only be speculating! However, the time-frame originally for its release from
conversion was for a June 30 completion!!As soon as I know more re this
topic, I'll post to the list.
X38 sure ain't turned up in Echuca as yet... To that end, this weekend's
"group" was G527 + X43 arr. Fri night on 9083 ex Melb.- stabled. G527 worked
to Deniliquin & return yesterday before mating with X32. X32 was here from
Friday's workings and returned to Melb. last night with G527. X43 is on
today's jobs into NSW. i.e. Moulamein (or Shepparton whichever working
occurred - unlike Ivar, I'm "racking up Zzzz's" at 0500 hrs) and Deniliquin
this afternoon. West Coast's duo, T413 +
Y 112 and consist is still "stored" here in Echuca.
See Ya AH

progress (if any) of repairs to Tongala victims G523 and X39? Also, has
upgrading begun on X38? Is a "G" class motor available for it (ex G518,
perhaps)?
