A single BL load through the Hills is 1000 ton and if you look at
lets say 16 cars it will 880 ton. Even a solo CLP (rated at 900 ton) can
haul that. Both BL's are under minor repair at RTS. One BL does the run for
a couple of days and swap happens in Adelaide. The other unit is the Keswick
pilot. Hope this helps.

Looks like plenty of time for breakfast for our group on the "Overdue"
between Tailem B. & Adelaide if a single BL is solely used on 15 - 16 car
trains!
BTW, If both BL's are in RTS, I guess you mean that they "routinely - but
not at present" run the train single-handedly?
