[Ausloco] 4000 Class and other coalies
Hi All,
As mentioned in my posting on Friday 14/7, 4000 class locos now seem to be
regulars on 9F01/9F02 out of Bluff (to Callemondah). As on Friday,
4005+4004 and 4007 (rear) were on the above train on Sat 15/7 and Sun 16/7.
On Sun 16/7, 9F01 was through Windah at 1325, and crossed 6W46 (2478H+1747D)
at Kabra at 1415. It really struggled under the Windah bank to Westwood.
>From a distance it seemed to be down to almost walking pace. As mentioned
in the posting by Graham Watkins 92 VSAs was the load. All up weight if
loaded to capacity is 9,500 - 9,900 tonnes.
The Fishermans Landing (QCL) coalie, 9L03, followed about 150 mins later,
and was through Gracemere at 1700. It starts at Callemondah as 9H03 and
returns as 9L04. (Note - numbers change at Rocklands). Up front today were
2144F+2142A+2203. 2144F is now fitted with a maxi-cab.
Cheers,
Bruce
