I heard was that CK 3 was sent to Whyalla to replace CK1 which blew up: if
it wasn't mentioned before it ran up to PA under it's own power. Also heard
that PA workshops has two DE's for overhaul 8 and 4 (not sure on the second
one) as well as CLP 9. Can any one confirm that NRE (Whyalla) is doing up a
fourth L class?
870 is just a shell as they took all the running gear out and put it in DA7
(4813's frame). 966 is also a wreck with just a block in it.
Seem's strange that the AN's are being stored because of CCO; none of the
DL's have received attention in the last 5 or more years to my knowledge so
they would be in much worse shape. Interestingly 3 of the AN's were still AN
property as of last financial year (98/99) because the lease's had still not
been paid out and terminated (1999 AN report).
CLF 6 has been fitted with a new microprocessor whether or not it's EMD I
don't know, but I suspect it is as it would explain the 82 testing and Clyde
have been talking about it for a while. It went out on 6AM3 (7/7) last night
as CLF6+GM40/46+CLP13/12 and 40 wagons (two GM's dead attached).
