Aus loco discussion mailing list
Guys !
I visited Geelong loco on 17/1/00. Entry could still be gained by car along the right-of-way leading to the offices. The amenities sections of the staff building were open but the old 'chargemans' offices (on the main line side of the building) were empty (no computers, files, manuals etc) and locked. The place certainly had the feel of being being there only for the servicing locos and not much else.
I eventually ventured out into the depot proper were I found 2 guys fuelling and turning locos. There were the only staff around. 13 trafficable and 3 stored locos present.
Regards
Peter
