Evening
all,
Cross Country Express departed Picton about 10 minutes early at
2250hrs. Loco combination was as reported by Paul, with all locos No.1 end
leading. If all goes well tonight, there should be some nice shots of 4201
leading in Victoria tomorrow.
Regards,
Mark.

NL96 Special , running slightly early , was
through Cowan about 8.20pm tonight, with 4201 leading 4520 and 44211. It
looked quite impressive with the long set of stainless steel
cars.
There was a "gunzel gathering" on the
Down platform at Cowan (it was still twilight), including Messrs Howard,
Buck, Rittson , and some with video cameras including Bevan & Ross
Wall plus Lindsay Lucas recording the scene for posterity. In Mr Lucas'
case, only just, as a call of nature intervened and he wasn't quite
expecting the train to sneak up so quietly! The gathering was very
impressed with the ensuing 20 metre platform sprint in Olympic qualifying
times. :-)
Cheers,
Paul
