Re: Has Any one heard of ATC?

Aus loco discussion mailing list

ATC is the safeworking system that runs in Victoria, bi- directional
running of trains on single lines. The Geelong line from Altona Junction
to Nth Geelong `A` signal box is two single lines, known as the East and
West lines for running of trains in either direction.
ATC rules also apply to the Ballarat line from Sunshine, and some lines
in the suburban area.
On the Geeelong line the signal boxes are Newport,Laverton controlled
from Newport, Werribee, Little River controlled from Werribee, Both Lara
and Corio both switch in/out boxes, and Nth. Geelong `A`.
This system is similar to the C.T.C. system is a adapted in most states.
