When 5910 was in Armidale in June 1997 it rasn out to Dumaresq and
collected the cement wagons that were in the loop and returned them to
Armidale (see "Stories Of Steam - Vol 1"), but this was purely for
practical reasons - if the cement wagons had been left in the loop
then 5910 would have been unable to run around the shuttles it was
working between Armidale and Dumaresq. In the case of 4201 up at West
Tamworth this week, if the rumoured run actually occurred it must have
been for photographic reasons because of the three RTM locos up there
I would suggest that 4201 would be the most impractical of the three
locos to use on a local freight trip - 44211 which has cabs either end
would be the most suitable.
