G'day all, just a quickie from my jaunt on the
25/01/00.
BHP Iron Ore Western Australia.
0800 hrs, 6071, 6077, 110 cars, 6076, 110 cars, ex Yandi
loaded. 54 km peg.
0940 hrs, 5655, 5661, 110 cars(empty), in the passing track at
Abydos, with High Rail 9 behind it. And the Speno rail grinder in the 'back
track', all crossed 5637, 5645 and 110 cars(loaded) ex Whaleback. Abydos is at
134km from Port Hedland.
The rail grinder was working the 120 km area.
1248 hrs, rail grinder again in the back track at Abydos,
5649, 5643, 110 cars, 5667, 5664 and 110 cars empty to Yandi arriving the
passing track. And 5657, 5668, 110 cars loaded ex Jimblebar through on the
main.
1320 hrs saw 5657, 5668, 110 cars loaded ex Jimblebar stop on
the mainline at Gillam and cross 6075, 6073 110 cars empty to Newman on the
passing track, then 20 minutes later the 'EPX' train rolled through with 5638,
5652, 110 cars, 5658, 5666, and 110 cars(empty).
All in all, a busy 5 and a half hours, with a 'triple cross'
and one 'quad cross'
