Re: Australia Day workings
Aus loco discussion mailing list
G'day Ivar from the Werai brigade (now back home) . We were real busy at the time cooking a 3 course breakfast but I think the one you missed was -
Down Steel 4WP2 - NR65+NR31 (not 71)+ NR112
Of interest on the Up was EL54 (blue/silver) + EL62 (green) on 3MS7, then
8176 on a short Up train (canola?), then
DL44 + DL41 on 4QW2 Limestone, and
NR12/NR116/DL49/NR90 on 6PW4 Up Steel
I think DL49 (original NRC paint scheme) was on transfer - it may replace on of the units currently on Medway or Dunmore workings.
There was quite a procession on the Up after dawn, and we even had some sunshine, but of course not full light until after most of the interesting ones had been through (naturally!).
We have made this a regular Oz Day event, and it's encouraging to see plenty of trains on the public holiday. "emd567"
dropped in after the backshift at Exeter and provided running info - thanks Danny!!
Cheers
Paul
