RE: Weighbridge test train

Aus loco discussion mailing list

Bob: Are the coal hoppers NPZH wagons with blues tarps? If so, a rake of them were resident in a siding at the Port Kembla Coal & Wheat unloading balloon loops on 30/12/1999. May have been used for testing the facilities there also but we didn't see the sleeper wagons.

During the last 3 days the Weigh bridge test train has been running push - pull between Sandgate
and Maitland testing the new weigh bridges. Tests are performed at high speeds and the train has
8253 + 8220 on one end and 8224 on the Maitland end. The train consists of a large number of
sleeper wagons loaded and some coal hoppers covered with tarpaulins.
Cheers
Bob
