RE: Cobar ore train

I went visiting clients on Wednesday and Thursday - Parkes had a
distinct lack of Silverton 48's mid-morning on Wednesday.  I drove via
NorthParkes Mine Danny, Goonumbla is about 20-25km north of Parkes,
about 15km south-east of the mine - turn off left just on the northern
outskirts of Parkes; the road crosses the line adjacent to the siding).
The copper concentrate is containerised at the minesite, and hauled by
road to Goonumbla by Heggies (using a road-train since Nov. 99); a
forklift loads the train at Goonumbla siding, which also has a grain
silo.  About 15-20 wagons without a loco were present as I passed
through - not sure if being loaded or unloaded.
Cutting back to Peak Hill then onto Narromine (around noon) and then
Cobar, there were NO trains anywhere.  The only rollingstock visible
were the wrecked wagons described by Bevan, about 16km east of Nyngan.
I left Cobar yesterday noon, returning via Nymagee and Condobolin; again
no trains at Condo, despite HEAPS of grain under tarps.  Parkes (both
ways) provided the only sightings for the 1100km round trip - listing to
follow later.  Looks like Bevan stole all of my trains!
