Aus loco discussion mailing list
Morning all,
With reference to Danny's message re altered Countrylink times, it would
appear to be academic as far as the XPT's on the south are concerned. Whilst
the down trains ST1 & ST3 seem to run close to time, the up trains are more
often than not running up to an hour late.
Do the respective down trains arrive in Melbourne on time or is it the same
situation down there, leaving little chance for recovery?
It would seem that instead of asking if the XPT is late, one should ask "how
late is the XPT?"
Same would seem to apply to WL1 in view of the recent posting from Orange.
Likewise when WL4 runs via the south, it is quite often up to an hour behind
the table. Must do heaps for PR with travelling public not to mention
railfans/photographers.
There! I've had my whinge for the day!
Yeeehaaa, Ivar
