RE: Hume Log train

The log trains are unloaded in the sidings which used to serve No6 Jetty, Port Kembla Power Station, and the fuel depot which used to be on the north side of Christy Drive. The sidings connect to the Port Kembla Outer Harbour balloon loop near the NRC offices, just before the level crossing over Old Port Road. The logs are unloaded by front end loader and stored on the ground on the site of the power station (it was demolished in the late 80s) on the corner of Christy Drive and Old Port Road. Once a ship has arrived the logs are placed on road trucks for the approx 200m drive to No6 jetty where the ships are loaded. There used to be rail access to No6 Jetty until the mid to late 80s, the last loco I saw there was 7006 on 24/7/83.
