Re: Parkes To-Day

Essentially confirmation of the reports from Gary Marshall and David Oliver.

Yesterday's level crossing happened on the Back Trundle Road (yes that's its
name) which crosses the Narromine line between Goobang Junction and
Nanardine a kilometre or two north of the Parkes-Condobolin road. The
crossing is protected by Stop signs only. Visibility from the road is very
poor heading into Parkes (which is the way the car was going). The car hit
light engines heading to Goonumbla to collect the Northparkes concentrate
train.

Last reports (from a relative of the car's occupants) were that the driver
suffered minor injuries, the child was more severely injured and transferred
to Orange hospital.
