I have replied to David off list. I was at the Melbourne end of the
station and was first informed by Darren Wood that the train was
running very very late. I then checked for myself and this was
confirmed. I told the two groups of people near me what was happening
and they packed up and left. I then went back to my van and while
pondering what to do I received the info that the route had changed.
At that stage, other than two people in a car who I told who didn't
seem to excited, there was noone anywhere near me who looked like
they were waiting for the train - if they had been I would have told
them. I was most surprised when I arrived at Bacchus Marsh (Ingliston
Bank?) to find only one or two people there - in NSW we have a
"grapevine" that would have informed most people of the change of
plans. Any further discussion should be off list.
