Thanks for all those informative replies to my pondering the question of
hauling of diesels as vehicles.

I have since seen a pic of  10 QR 1502 diesels with the first two suppling
the power while the last 8 were vehicles. In was in Motive Power issue #9
P.30  It also was a regular event for the transfer of locos to / from Mayne
Junction and Redbank workshops. Since Mayne loco is now shut, I suppose this
operation is now classified as historical.
