3146 (was Exeter today 11/4/00)

Aus loco discussion mailing list

Hello,

3146 (the return empty Bomen oil) is presently shunting Yass.

Peter from Junee has posted the motive power as a pair of 48 class.

It arrived at 9-55pm (21-55) no doubt to deposit the loaded super trucks.

Why it would take them past Yass this morning, only to drag them back this
evening, who knows. (I don't work for the railways!)

However, on an almost identical note back on the 13/1, an 81 class on 1345
(full Bomen oil) picked up a short rake of empty super trucks and took them
to Harden, only to have that evenings 3146 pick them up and take them back
north!

This was powered by 4869/4866 and as had been reported, the trailing unit
was claimed to have a 'blown turbo' and setting alight fires around the
Galong area.

It is now 11-25pm (23-45) and after F.A. 3984 passes, tonights 3146 will be
on its way.

Bye.
