Yep - you obviously have way too much idle time!

By railway coincidence, do you mean like my Medicare Card number, which
ends in "...0 3801 4" ?    :-)

Speaking of 3801, I travelled from Hornsby to Maitland and back today on
the non double-header - unfortunately 3830 failed after yesterdays run,
apparently with a crook bearing, so the train was worked by 3801 with 4401
pushing at the back, with 9 cars.

The Hunter Valley featured the usual intensive train working - you see more
units up there in a few hours than even Danny on the South sees on the
shifts that he's awake!  On the Down journey, between Waratah and
Beresfield, we passed three Up coalies in succession, illustrating the
complete range of local motive power. The first featured double 90 class,
the second triple 82's, and the third had quad 48's.  I saw a total of
three trains with quad 48's during the day, all on the Up. They can't all
be from Pelton, so I wonder does this explain the alleged "freeing up" of
82's and 81's from coal road duties?

One of the triple 90's trains was a monster - I lost count at about 90
batwing hoppers. Anyone confirm the tonnage of these maximum loads?
