Re: Redfern-Central / 3801

There were a total of 6 x 48's around Central today. As well as those
reported by John, at 12.30pm, Platform 20 was occupied by RSA's 4819 + 4827
(in the teal, or is it turquoise, and yellow paint scheme). I snuck up
the stairs to the closed Platform 18/19 to finally get a photo of these
engines.

The derailed suburban cars from Friday night are still occupying the engine
dive. The adjacent Up and Down mains have been reopened. Looks like it's
going to be a rather tricky job to recover the carriage that has tipped
sideways, and is wedged into the brickwork.

On a different note, Lindsay and I saw 3801 depart Picton this morning at
0930 after it refuged in the Down back platform road and took water from a
hydrant. No sign of the Griffith Passenger, which must have been running
fairly late, as they let the steam proceed on its table. With only 6 cars,
it was a very lively standing start out of Picton.

Cheers,

Paul
