FA 3984? (was FA 3338)

Aus loco discussion mailing list

Hello,

FA train number 3984 (?) returned from Coolamon with the T's leading and
supplying power. The G was off-line.

After departure of XPT ST4 from Junee, the wheaty followed. The time would
have been around 1-30pm (13-30).

At this point, only the G class was powering.

The train was given priority over FreightCorp mill wheat train number 3170
(loco 8205) which was coming out of the west at Cootamundra.

All was fine until Harden where they were stopped due to the following 3170
reporting 'oil' on the track.

Nothing could be found upon inspection, and 3984 (?) continued.

For a while it looked as if once again, a T class was destined not to get
further north than Harden! Re the Austrac passenger car movement last month
with GN T 373.

Thanks to the holidaying Laurie Anderson for passing on the branchline
details and for verifying that the T class were indeed staying on the train
for the mainline run.

Goodnight.

P.S. While Pete is away, surely Niccy can get some sleep?
