At Canberra on 1/4 were 8039/8007 at 10.30
am. Quite a pleasant surprise.
8039 was still equipped with the
stobe light and blue marker lights when it was used by BHP. Is there any
reason why 8018 never returned to service after being trailed by BHP. It
now lives with the three rail tractors at Port Kembla. I'm not sure but
did it suffer a major failure whilst being trailed.
Other locos sighted yesterday were :
8184 - Goulburn on a limestone train 9am - not
there at 2pm though the wagons were
8158, 8607 - Enfield at 4pm
8163 - Botany 5pm
Didn't quite reach my alco quota
for the day, but theres always tomorrow !
Chris.
