Steamrail weekend tour to Echuca & Moulamein, 9-11/6/2001 |
Over the Queen's Birthday long weekend, Steamrail ran a steam hauled weekend tour to Echuca and Moulamein. I motorcaded the special as it returned via Toolamba. The loco was K183 and the load was five wooden sleeping cars.

Steamrail "50 years of R class locomotives" tour to Benalla, 30/6/2001 |
Steamrail ran a special tour to Benalla to celebrate 50 years of R class steam locomotives. R761 was specially re-numbered to R703 for the trip. The load was 8 wooden E and W cars.

Stony Point pass, 4/7/2001 |
V/Line Passenger runs the Frankston to Stony Point service for Bayside Trains. The usual consist is a classic double ended A class diesel with two MTH cars. This day was no exception with A66 doing the honours. If you have a subwoofer, crank it up!

Freight Australia 9352 up freight, 10/9/2001 |
Freight Australia run a regular freight service to the southern NSW town of Tocumwal. On this occasion, 9352 up freight was hauled by diesel locomotives A77, P19 and X41.

R class hauled railfan tours over the weekend of 22-23/9/2001 |
Three railfan tours using R class steam locomotives ran over the weekend of 22-23/9/2001. Steamrail ran a tour to Geelong and Gheringhap with R761 and R711 on Saturday 22/9/2001. On Sunday 23/9/2001, South Western Railway Society used R711 for a tour to Maryborough and St Arnaud while 707 Operations ran a trip to Bacchus Marsh with R707.

NSWRTM Melbourne Cup special, 4-7/11/2001 |
The New South Wales Rail Transport Museum ran their annual tour from Sydney to the Melbourne Cup over 4-7/11/2001. The train was hauled by heritage diesel locomotives 4201 and 44211. The load was thirteen stainless steel cars. Most of these were from the Southern Aurora.
