Safety
Visitors to the Ladysmith Station should
be aware of important safety issues. These include :

Enclosed footwear MUST be worn in the
Station Yard and on the Trikes. Any persons with thongs, sandals or the like
will be refused permission to ride on a rail vehicle and within the vicinity
of the rail yard.

All visitors should be aware of moving
traffic around the lines at all times. Please remain behind the fences and/or
at a distance of 3 metres from the track.

Please observe all warning and information
signs within the yard precinct

Any persons under the influence of
Alcohol or Drugs may be refused permission to ride on a rail vehicle or be
within areas of risk to personal safety. (i.e. Platforms)

Most of all, common sense must be
first on everyone's mind.
You should further be aware that
driving a vehicle (motor vehicle or rail vehicle) on a disused or abandoned
railway line without an Access Agreement is an offence under the Rail Act.
Just because the line has not been used for some time and may never be used
again, it is still owned by State Rail or another body.
