What's New at TumbaRail

With much hard work from our dedicated members, TumbaRail will be commencing extended operations as of November 9, 2002. Previously, we have operated from within the Ladysmith station yard, but have now extended operations through to Kyeamba Creek bridge. The new distance from end to end is now some 1.8km in length. Hence, the travel distance is 3.6km and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. It is anticipated that two trikes will be operated to cope with demand and travel time. Included in this travel time, is a stop over to view the gang shed within the yard, whilst waiting for the second trike to return from the western end of the line.

The left photo shows the 'monument', approximately 1 km up from the Ladysmith station. The silos in the distance are approximately 500m on the up side of the station, which is at the extreme right of the photo.
The right photo is taken from the stop block at the Kyeamba Creek bridge, some 1.4km from the Ladysmith station. The silos are visible in the distance.
