Not quite an actual rail sighting, but this could make for some amazing
lighting effects for photography.

There is an annualar solar eclipse this afternoon. Thre will be a near total
elcipse in a line from about Geraldton (WA) to just north of Cairns. Going
by the map a kind astronomer drew me, here are the approximate (local) times
and percentages of the eclipse at its peak.

Perth 14,20 90%
Kalgoorlie 14.30 85%
Alice Springs 16.15 90%
Adelaide 17.15 70%
Hobart 17.30 45%
Melbourne 17.40 55%
Canberra 17.45 60%
Sydney 17.50 70%
Brisbane 17.00 80%
Cairns 17.10 95%

I hope I got all the times right, taking into account who is and isn't on
daylight savings.

Remember, DO NOT look directly at the sun during an eclipse.

Cheers
David
